A gated San Antonio neighborhood has reportedly been burglarized repeatedly since at least February. Police put the losses above $5 million.

No one has been arrested.
The subdivision has a guarded entrance. Homes had cameras.
At least two safes were reportedly opened and the burglars stole $100K in cash and expensive watches.
In some cases the criminals threw rocks at the windows first. Not to get in. To see whether an alarm sounded or anyone was home. Police describe the rock as the entry method rather than a probe.
A news crew investigating these events reportedly drove an unmarked car to the gate and a guard opened it and let them through without a challenge.
Homeowners in the neighborhood are themselves offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
Cameras caught some of the break-ins, but only after the fact. Cameras without monitoring tend to make good evidence rather than good deterrence.
And homes in "safe neighborhoods" that don't have proper physical security assessments, and without regular testing of security procedures, tend to make easier targets for bad actors.
